Why
did Jesus die?
These two questions are linked.
The human race has disobeyed God and each human being also:
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;
and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)
However, Jesus paid the penalty for sin by dying on the Cross, and
people can return to God and be made new - anyone, no matter how bad
(or good) they are:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life." (John 3:16)
He has destroyed death for those who believe in him, and will
ultimately raise their bodies from the dead when he returns:
"And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth
the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will
raise him up at the last day." (John
6:40)
I WOULD
STRONGLY URGE EVERYONE TO CHECK THE EVIDENCE FOR THEMSELVES. READ THE
GOSPELS - YOU WILL BE AMAZED.
No folklore was
ever like this!
